MakerBot’s first co-branded venture is a collaboration with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO), the company set up by businesswoman, writer and TV personality Martha Stewart. «3D printing allows for cost-effective product design without compromising artisanal character. «We think her creations and colours are a natural fit for 3D printing. With this partnership, we are able to leverage our expertise and expand our business into the exciting new 3D-printing category.»
The home design personality, who has previously made known her enthusiasm for technologies including drones, championed the use of 3D printers in an article for CNN last week. «We are big fans of Martha Stewart and her thematic designs,» said Jenny Lawton, acting CEO of MakerBot. The designs in the Trellis Collection include coasters, napkin rings, LED candle holders and place card holders. MSLO and MakerBot are continuing to work together on further product collections, though no details have been released at this stage.
