Archirivolto has created a series of chair designs for Calligaris since Dondoli and Marco Pocci started the studio in 1983, including the Alchemia chair with a latticed back and the Sorbetto chair that features a gently curved seat. The sleigh version has a leg that curves from the seat, down across the floor then back up to the shell on either side. Dezeen is publishing an A to Z of iconic chairs to count down the days until Christmas. Archirivolto, founded by designers Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci, moulded the dining chair so it features a glossy white seat on one side and a translucent back on the other. Clear plastic shockproof feet are added to the base to prevent it scratching and slipping on floor surfaces. The design also comes with a spider base, as an office swivel chair and a barstool – all with the same shell composition and oval punctures. Moving on to J, the next design in our festive alphabetical countdown is the Jam Chair created by Italian studio Archirivolto for Calligaris. Catch up with the list so far »
