Suppliers are invited to the Mitchell Library on 13 November between 16:00 and 20:00 to discuss involvement in the project, which should be completed by summer 2016. These will include the only surviving complete suite of interiors by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for Mrs Cranston’s Ingram Street tearooms and the Hunterian Collections — currently on display at Glasgow University. The work will see the former venue transformed by PagePark architects into a base for Glasgow Museums, Glasgow Sport, the National Library of Scotland and Glasgow University with large environmentally controlled rooms showcasing 1.5m objects currently dispersed at numerous locations around the city. A new glass pavilion will be built to the north of the building housing a foyer, reception and café. Elsewhere space will be provided for a conference centre, conservation facilities and teaching space together with a Scottish Screen archive.
