Last week, Maxwell and his daughter, Ursula, threw a Halloween party for friends and family.
If you have a group of trick-or-treaters headed out on the 31st, beforehand is a great time to host a get-together that’s fun and gets everyone in the mood for the evening to come.

THEME
Instead of the standard spookiness, Maxwell opted for an atmospheric theme centered around magic, fortune telling and counting your lucky stars. It’s still fantastical and festive, but not too scary for any wee ones.
DECORATIONS
To pull it off, we brought together a mix of store-bought goods, vintage items, and DIY projects.

FOOD DRINK
Party food was deliberately kept simple. Maxwell served wine and cheese to the adults. For kids, there were special fortune telling cupcakes with charm pulls, fortune cookies, and a tasty, bubbly non-alcoholic drink.

GAMES ACTIVITIES
Fun crafts and activities kept the party moving along nicely, and prevented kids from getting bored. A friendly fortune teller entertained everybody — young and old alike — with palm readings and glimpses into the future. A psychic-themed version of ‘Pin the Tail on the Donkey’, and origami paper fortune tellers, rounded out the evening.

PHOTOBOOTH COSTUMES
There’s no better way to capture the evening than with a photobooth, complete with colorful backdrop and fun costumes for all. Even if your guests already come in character, have costumes and/or props on hand to get them into the spirit of the evening and give them something to do while having their photo taken.
