Behind our bed is an old map from a school — it still has the USSR on it — that we framed. I painted that big painting with the guy holding the fish that’s behind our sofa. Thanks, Lacy Reed-Cox! I also keep a small organic herb flower garden on our balcony; when the weather is nice at night, we turn on the Christmas lights and hang out there among the plants. My mother is a fiber artist and made a bunch of the stuff in our house, including a few tapestries and a huge, chartreuse, knitted pouf. Fun things we have around the house — several reading nooks, a sweet Danish mid-century buffet that doubles as a mantel (our wedding vase and marriage license are displayed on top of it), some weird collected/thrifted vases for my weekly floral arrangements. You can also see — we are kinda obsessed with lamps. We like the cleanness of modern and mid-century modern lines, so the furniture we own is almost all modern, but to make it homier, we’ve layered on whimsical/bohemian stuff using textiles, rugs, and art.
