Fresh flowers are a treat for yourself and your home. The clean up afterwards, especially on narrow-necked vases, not so much. Our solution? Denture cleaner! The tiny tablets pack a punch and go to work on a myriad of household chores —and can be stored away with ease.

Instructions

  1. Add very warm water to your bottle, stop an inch or two from the top to allow for possible fizzy overflow.
  2. Break apart one tablet and drop it inside. Depending on the size of the bottle you are cleaning, you may need less than a full tablet. I used about 3/4 of the one for each soda bottles I cleaned for this post. The tablet will start to dissolve and the water will turn blue.
  3. Let the cleaner soak in the bottle for 15 minutes, rinse throughly.

This method works great for flower vases or other bottles with recent ‘gunk’. I also tried it on very old bottles that had years of crustiness inside and the results varied, but I did see an improvement even for those.
