Edinburgh Airport is in line for its third passenger hotel with plans being drawn up for a 175 room Hampton by Hilton close to the newly expanded terminal. He concluded: “It is in a prominent location on a key route into Edinburgh Airport and has been designed to provide a positive landmark building.”
A public consultation into the proposed plans will take place at Norwood Community Wing, Ratho Station tomorrow between 15:30 and 19:00. Ian Kettlewell, director of planning consultancy Nathaniel Litchfield Partners, said that the scheme would address ‘an identified shortfall in the number of rooms around the airport’. The £16m scheme has been drawn up by 3D Reid Architects on behalf of Ability Hotel Group for construction toward the tail end of 2015.
