Before & After: A Vintage Veneer Rescue

Another shelf became a USB charging station, with those cords threaded through. I replaced the broken veneer with pieces of new blackwood veneer, sanded off the old finish, and gave the cabinet a varnish all over. Sanding back the shell and doors also took off the old orangey stain, and I didn’t bother re-staining them since the veneer has enough colour and interest. I’m pretty happy with how it looks and functions. The left-hand side of the cabinet holds LPs.
