Marble countertops are a sophisticated, classic, and beautiful choice for kitchens, and work well in modern, traditional, and even vintage-inspired kitchens. If there are any complaints about the material, it’s the expense and the maintenance required to keep them stain and chip free. But what if you could get the look of marble, with the high cost or inconvenience? Check out these four options:
LAMINATE
Above, Leslie at My Old Country House was excited to find this inexpensive laminate product that looks like Carrara Marble.
CONCRETE
If you feel comfortable working with concrete, try this technique, as shown by Farmer’s Daughter over on GardenWeb.
PAINTED FAUX FINISH
Danika of Gorgeous Shiny Things actually painted her old Formica kitchen countertops to look like marble, and even gives an update a year later to show how they hold up over time.
QUARTZ
And last but not least, you can find an approximate match with manmade quartz stone. Greg Ashley, from Seventh House on the Left, installed Cambria‘s Torquay, but we’ve also heard that Caesarstone’s Frosty Carrina is a nice alternative.
