Sherwin-Williams, on the other hand, declared Coral Reef the “It Color” of 2015:

Now that olive green is back in style, will avocado fixtures be next? But at least the orchid was something that made sense with the pastel and gray trend. I thought 2014’s Radiant Orchid was an odd choice and was kind of relieved that it never really caught on. The Guardian posted an infographic of the Pantone colors of the year dating back to 2000, and I pretty much prefer every one of them to this year’s Marsala:

There’s a funny “Mitchell and Webb” parody of House Hunters types of shows in which a British couple makes the mistake of not hating the old avocado bathroom fixtures that you can watch here (cracks me up every time):
Benjamin Moore declared a lighter shade the Color of the Year: Guildford Green. I thought a shade of navy or indigo might make the list, but, BZZZ!, I guessed wrong. Apartment Therapy had predicted that the color of ’15 would be Olive Green and used this photo from Sparkle Interiors as an example:
