Competition: five Make:Shift innovation conference tickets to be won

Five winners will be selected at random and notified by email. Arum by Zaha Hadid, with material and fabrication Technology by Gregory Epps, RoboFoldIntroduced by keynote speakers   Martina Margetts, a tutor at the Royal College of Art,   and architect Ammar Mirjan, the conference will explore current and future thinking on the role of craft in 21st century production. During the weekend, maker spaces across the UK will open their doors to people who wish to try their hand at new forms of craft, from laser-cutting to 3D-printing. Roger Kneebone, Knyttan, Dr Julia Lohmann, Mark Miodownik and Gareth Neal. Make:Shift:Do, an accompanying public programme, will run from 21 to 22 November in partnership with the VA, RSA and Institute of Making. Early bird tickets for Make:Shift conference are available until 5 October. It will also consider how these same makers are contributing to innovation in other sectors, including science, engineering, technology, manufacturing and medicine. Comprising panel discussions, presentations and participatory sessions, Make:Shift will look at how advances in materials, processes and technologies are driving new developments in craft practice.
